My Fitness Journey

I started my fitness journey a few years ago, around 2019, after I had to have a surgery for my GI health. That surgery made me rethink my lifestyle habits and led me to pursue a healthier and more active life. At the time I didn't know what or where to start. So, like most people, I got a gym membership and started weight training.

Weight training became my main type of workout for the first two years of my fitness journey. Although weight training helped me stay active, I did not find it fulfilling. I never felt overly excited about training and became tired of the same routine. In the last year and a half, I decided to change my workout routine. I started doing more bodyweight and at-home workouts and eventually ended up trying Pilates and yoga.

Pilates and yoga have since become a part of my fitness regimen. Now, I alternate between weight training, pilates, and yoga. I have even started hiking and going on outdoor walks. Alternating between low-impact exercises and weight training has made staying active more fun, helped me accomplish my fitness goals of becoming more lean, and has helped me manage my stress.
